We worked with the City of Reading and Berks County in 2005-2006 through a state-funded Early Intervention Program that helps local governments try to avoid municipal bankruptcy. The project involved developing multi-year financial plans for both the City and County, and reviewing specific services for efficiencies and service-level improvements. In the County, we focused on helping the County-owned nursing home, Department of Children and Youth, Sheriff’s Central Processing operation and the 23rd Judicial District Court.
