Dave Rudat, Special Advisor, has demonstrated innovation and leadership throughout his more than 37 years of work in the public sector.  His most recent experiences include a nearly fifteen month Interim City Manager assignment for the City of Los Alamitos, California; sitting as a hearing officer for the City of Redondo Beach in which he heard and ruled on a multi-million dollar utility tax case; completing an assignment as Interim Deputy County Executive Officer for the County of Orange where his areas of responsibility included Harbors, Beaches and Parks; Flood Control, Roads and Bridges; County Libraries; Planning, Building and Development; County Landfills and Waste Management; Housing and Community Services; and the Office of the Registrar of Voters.  In addition, he has assisted Management Partners on projects for cities and fire agencies throughout California.

Dave previously served as City Manager for the City of Orange for ten years, leading the city through tough economic times and recovery, by significantly increasing sales tax revenues and reducing spending, and improving productivity.  He has also served as President of the Orange County City Manager’s Association where his responsibilities included regional leadership for the organization.  Dave began his career in the fire service and he has over 24 years of public safety experiences, including Fire Chief.  Dave’s public safety experiences run the course with special emphasis and experience in EMS, fire prevention and investigations (criminal arson and haz-mat), communications, and regional disaster planning.
