Christopher Gerdes, Special Advisor, is a recently retired Army Colonel with over 29 years of military and corporate experience in policing, organizational leadership, training, strategic planning, and change management.
Chris served 23 years on active duty in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer. Highlights of his assignments were both police- and management-related and included Base Commander of Camp Parks California, Assistant Chief of Staff of the Defense Forensics and Biometrics Agency, Executive Director of Protection for the Army Reserve, and three combat tours. His policing expertise includes directing all law enforcement operations for one of the Army’s largest installations – Fort Bliss, Texas – that encompassed patrols, desk operations, crime prevention, traffic investigations, K-9, and investigations. He also directed and transformed enterprise-level security programs for an organization of over 200k people and over 500 facilities.
Chris has extensive experience in strategic planning and change management. He was trained and certified by the Army as a strategic planner. He is also well-versed in a new legal authority for public-public partnerships called Intergovernmental Support Agreements that allow for municipalities and military bases to share services for mutual fiscal and performance benefits.Back
