Manny González

Special Advisor

Manny González served seven government agencies and a non-profit organization in his 39-year career. His roles included executive director of the Housing Authority of the County of Monterey and assistant county administrative officer for the County of Monterey where he oversaw Human Resources, among other departments. In Monterey County, he implemented a Governing for Racial Equity (GRE) Program to advance racial equity practices into government services. He collaborated with California Endowment, Race Forward, and the National Compadres Network to educate decision-makers on how equity is different from diversity and equality and led a countywide team of executives and other staff to develop a Racial Equity Action Plan that was adopted by the Board of Supervisors.

Prior to Monterey County, Manny served for eight years as assistant county manager for administrative services for the County of Pinal, Arizona. He also held a variety of management positions in the City of Phoenix, including budget analyst, city manager’s office management assistant, deputy development services director, and housing director. His professional associations include the International City/County Management Association, National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials, Arizona City Management Association, and the Phoenix Hispanic Network.
